The Run For A Million Qualifiers announced from the NRCHA Western Derby


The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) announced the eight riders invited to The Run For A Million Cow Horse Challenge from the DT Horses Western Derby qualifier.

The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) announced the top eight riders invited to The Run For A Million Cow Horse Event from the Teton Ridge Stallion Stakes qualifier.
Out of an 83-horse field, it took a 440 composite score to earn an invitation to the cow horse event, which will be held August 17-20. Nick Dowers riding Santiago Time, for owner Clinton Marshall topped the field with a 444 and secured a check for $8,835.


In 2012, the National Reining Horse Association created the Professionals of the Year awards to recognize those members who go above and beyond to advocate for the sport, fellow members, and of course, the horses.
NRHA affiliates may nominate NRHA Professionals for the awards, which include the NRHA Professional Horseman of the Year, the NRHA Non Pro Coach of the Year, the NRHA Youth Coach of the Year, the NRHA Becky Hanson Horsewoman of the Year, and the NRHA Up-and-Coming Trainer of the Year.


Jake Telford joins an elite, and small, club as he becomes the fourth National Reined Cow Horse Association trainer to become a $2 Million Dollar Rider. Telford, of Caldwell, Idaho, is no stranger to success in the show pen, but achieving this milestone only nine years after becoming an NRCHA Million Dollar Rider left the horseman speechless.
