NRHA Governance and Consideration of the Run for a Million Invitational

Reining fans and participants around the world are aware of the Run for a Million Invitational, its magnitude, and the unique platform it brings to reining. The National Reining Horse Association Board of Directors understands and appreciates the opinions of all members and how they feel lifetime earnings should be recorded. The board of directors and executive committee took part in many discussions with members, and, as a decision-making body, fulfilled its responsibility to make a decision with the best interests of the organization in mind. The steps are outlined below.

The host nation turned on the magic once again to win the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of Mexico 2019 at Coapexpan today with a gutsy and determined performance. The Mexican side of Patricio Pasquel (47), Manuel Gonzalez Dufrane (25), Lorenza O’Farrill (49) and Salvador Onate (41) produced a spectacular result, confirming their supremacy without having to call up anchorman Onate in the second round and pinning USA into runner-up spot while Canada finished third.

Hollywoodstinseltown has unofficially become the newest National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Two Million Dollar Sire, thanks to the recent success of his offspring at the National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) in Katy, Texas. Shining In Town won just under $23,000, Miss Whizzletown earned in excess of $17,900, and Hollywooddirtysecret took home $8,750, shooting their sire above the $2 million mark. Hollywoodstinseltown is by the late NRHA Hall of Fame Inductee and Six Million Dollar Sire Hollywood Dun It and out of Hall of Fame Inductee Miss Tinseltown.

Non Pro Limited Achievement Award

The National Reined Cow Horse Association Merit Award program was created to recognize elite equine athletes that steadily succeed throughout their reined cow horse show career.  Merit awards are determined by the horse’s NRCHA lifetime earnings – whether win checks are earned at regional or national level shows. The current Merit Award levels are: Certificate of Ability, Superior Cow Horse Award and Supreme Reined Cow Horse. Earnings won in the Limited or “boxing” classes are only applicable for the Certificate of Ability level.
