Travagliato, March 31 — Provided by International Horse Press — Over 100 horses from Europe made their way to Italy to take part in the first show of the year: The ERCHA/NRCHA Spring Stakes. Held in Travagliato on March 24-27, the cowhorse event counted over 400 entries.

For the second year in a row, winning the Spring Stakes Open Championship was Giovanni Campanaro riding Shesa Genuinelypepto (Oaks Lone Pepto x Genuinely Snapper) for proud owner Loris Paone. The duo closed the cow work with a huge 75 score for a total composite of 218 (rein work 71, herd work 72). With a 217.5 composite score, the Italian professional also shared reserve honors with his other two mounts: Claudio Gattone’s Top Star All Dun (Billy All Dun x Tops O Lena Star) and Dual Aristocrat MR (Tassas Aristocrat x GH Dual Snappin) owned by Antonio Marmo.

An Update on Cutting at the 2022 All American Quarter Horse Congress

COLUMBUS, OH – Cutting has been an integral part of the All American Quarter Horse Congress since its inception in 1967. In the beginning, the Congress began as a long weekend show and has grown to span over four weekends in the fall. Since the demands of producing a quality cutting requires so much more time and space than other quarter horse classes, it was decided this year to move it to a nearby location where space and time were not an issue. This move will be more user friendly to the cutters and will allow the cutting to grow at its own pace in the future.

NCHA Announces AQHA Leading Sire and Dam Award Recipients for 2021

The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) announces Metallic Cat, Junie Wood, and Metallic Rebel as the recipients of the 2021 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Leading Sire, Leading Dam, and Leading Freshman Sire awards, respectively.
“The growth our cutting industry has seen over the years is largely due to our stallion owners and breeders,” NCHA Executive Director Jay Winborn said. “Their commitment to developing the next generation of champions will only propel the legacy of the cutting horse into the future.”

AMERICANA 2021: Marco Salvatori Claims European Championship Non Pro Cutting Go Round

A huge number of 34 horse-rider combinations competed in the Non Pro Go round of the Cutting European Championship at AMERICANA and the first three places were all about Salvatori’s family! Marco Salvatori took the lead aboard his Highbrow Time (High Brow CD x One Time Soon). The two showed brilliant skills rewarded by the judges with a 147 score.

Americana 2021: Denis Pini Wins Masters Cutting Open

Provided by Ramona Billing/AMERICANA - Today the AMERICANA 2021 started in Augsburg for the participants. The very first class showed how high the performance bar is set here. In the Masters Cuttings Open Denis Pini claimed the Championship aboard Michal Popov's Stop Ur Hot. With a 147, the Italian, who has already won the AMERICANA European Championship Cutting several times, prevailed over his 32 competitors. He also rode Genuine Alley Cat for Davide Tresoldi to third place (145).
